    Very good

The friendliness and approachability of the staff.

The outside noise. There was constant loud bass music booming from a local club until about 1.30am. Also the loudness of pedestrians in the street. By 2am it was silent and peaceful.

    Fabulous

Room was nice and clean, hotel was in good position. It was nice downstairs, bar was nice to come back to in the evening.

Was loud music coming from below until well after midnight

Location great. Pub seemed well managed and clean .. but you need to like it noisy at weekends. Good shower

Hotel area substandard (a different world to the pub) ... room very noisy from bar and smelled of cooking. No attention to detail .. ie no trouser hangers, no light by desk etc .. small cheap items that make a difference. Back entrance we had to use in the mornings was a mess. Needed renovation

    Good

    Excellent Staff very accomodating!

Only the fact that it is situated on a main transport route and straight across the road is a nightclub. It was extremely noisy as the windows are not double glazed (which would help) both with noise reduction and the warmth of the room!

the loctation was the only good thing about this hotel!!

the standards of the room!! holes in the walls, major cracks in the ceiling!! a door between us and the next room which you could see through!! and hear every word!! i was so unhappy with this hotel! i could have stayed in the travel lodge for a cheaper price...the risk certainly didnt pay off!!

Not very sound proof. Could hear next doors tv and even heard them sneeze. Also there was a hole in the wall.

    Good

    Room and staff were excellent.

Didnt have breakfast facillities and i thought we booked for bed and breakfast.

    Fabulous

It is a great location for the city centre, does excellent food and is a very good price. The tea and coffee facilties were good and there is free wi-fi, although it was a little sporadic.

That great central location can mean that it is a little noisy, but that's the trade off. My bed was particularly uncomfortable, although my daughter's bed was ok. I have emailed the hotel about the bed, as I think it needs to be replaced, but I haven't had a response yet. Given they don't do breakfast, it would be nice if they had some suggestions on places to eat as you don't want to be wandering around looking for somewhere first thing in the morning.

    Fabulous

lovely staff, excellent city centre location, particularly if you like shopping and great food (we do) and night life (a bit lively for us!), but overall great.

too noisy for us but not complaining about that, we should've checked location more carefully and would recommend to others with that proviso. Need a bedside lamp.

    Fabulous

    friendly staff. clean room

    not enough pillows (despite asking)

    Superb

The hotel has a lot of character. The staff are very friendly, and the location is great - very close to the city centre, bus station, and train station. That said, it's surprisingly quiet! The room was smallish but very clean, and the bed was comfortable. I felt that I got great value for the money.

This is to be expected in these older buildings, but there is no lift - we had to lug our suitcases up the narrow stairs. It wasn't a big deal, but keep this in mind if you will have lots of bags. The wireless internet was quite spotty in our room on the second floor. It worked perfectly from the bar downstairs, though.
